Muscat Mommy is Shirley Parabia‘s blog on her experiences as an expatriate mother, wife and career woman in the Sultanate of Oman.
The domain was purchased from NameCheap on 19 June 2016. It spent a few years dormant in my control panel before I finally decided to bring my idea for an Oman-centric online diary to life. This website has been live since 18 April 2021.
As for the site title, please do not be misled by its seemingly generic, alliterative nature. Muscat Mommy is far from being your run-of-the-mill “mommy blog.” Indeed, I am a very proud mom, but I also work full time, write books and have a whole slew of sporty pursuits . My adventures of late have taken for the most part in Muscat and throughout Oman, so why not blog about it all? I do consider the Sultanate as my second home.
